1964 Fender Stratocaster Dakota Red - Serial: L45394

This beautiful guitar was sold back in the day in a Los Angeles shop, and still has the original hang tag with the serial number and the indication of the custom color “Dakota Red” on it.

It’s a superb sounding guitar, as many would say, Fender got it all right sometimes between mid 1964 to early 1965.

The instrument has been sourced by its original owner, who painted it white in the 80s, when a middle Humbucker has been added to the guitar. He sold it a few years ago to the current owner, who had it masterfully restored by our Luthier Romano Burini from our ToneTeam, who matched the original Dakota red paint found in the cavities and refinished the body to its former glory.

While the routes on the original pickguard has been filled in, the repaired guard it’s in the case as “case candy”, since a beautiful green celluloid repro is on the guitar. Currently a 5 way switch is installed but the original 3 way is in the case as well.

The neck remains totally original and shows a very nice dark Brazilian board over flame maple, while it’s been refretted by Romano Burini and the guitar plays fantastic.

All the parts are original aside from the second tone pot, and the neck pickup has been repaired and wax potted.

All in All this is a fantastic guitar with a great story.
