I found this guitar on the Australian Ebay, was advertised as per refinished "because there's gold under the red". Sure, that's how A Candy apple red was done folks! This is the gorgeous version over Firemist Gold, late '66 early 67 finish with no yellow stain anymore, no white primer. The guitar is near mint conditions, we just restored the bridge pickup route that had been slightly lowered and applied a matching candy apple red in there. The owner decided to change the original pickups some time after I delivered it. Still a very nice example of a 60s custom color!
