PORTFOLIO - 1950's

1956 Fender Stratocaster Dakota Red - Serial : 023837

This one of a kind guitar came here in Italy all the way from Canada almost 20 years ago. This is a fantastic example of a "Fender Factory Refin", infact the 9/56 dated body (originally sunburst) has been sent back to the factory around 1968 to be finished in the amazing custom color "Dakota Red" of all things !! When Fender performed this kind of service on a whole guitar, it was typical for them to mark both body and neck in order not to loose them during the Refinishing/Restore process. They used to change the headstock decal also, with a current one from the year the Factory Refinish was performed, as well as replacing any broken or damaged parts with new, factory ones. In this case we have a original 50's maple neck with original "spaghetti" logo decal, that has been refretted with jumbo frets, and the original body, factory refinished in 1968 in Dakota Red, with the typical markings under the pick guard. Apart from a couple of extra screw holes from another pick guard, the guitar is loaded with all its original parts and tremolo arm, and comes complete with a gorgeous tweed case with inner red plush. Oh, it's one of the best sounding guitar we've ever had here! This is the perfect addition to any serious Fender Collection!
